We are so thankful for the great volunteers who’ve come forward to coach and co-coach, mentoring into young people valuable skills playing the great game of soccer!  No matter how many kids register, every team needs a coach in order to hit the field.

Assistant coaches are also needed throughout U5 to U15 in order to help with training exercises and fill in when the coach is unavailable.

Please note, those that coached the previous year must let us know whether they will continue to coach again next year.

Thinking of Coaching?

The Alberta Soccer Association (ASA) requires all coaches to have completed the appropriate coaching course levels.  The Westlock Soccer Association (WSA) pays for your courses (required for U10 teams and higher) which are held in Edmonton before the season begins.

Anyone in the community can volunteer to be a coach, all you need is a positive attitude and the availability to attend practices Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30pm-7:30pm.  Our season runs from May 5th to June 25th.

  • We offer coaching courses around the Westlock area
  • If you coach you get one free registration
  • We will provide you with coaching manuals including lesson plans
  • Our board members are always around to offer advice and help every practice
  • Criminal record checks are required for all coaches and assistants.
